Holiday's almost over
Feb. 7th, 2009 11:21 amOK, so Canterbury fell sort of flat due to the weather conditions (I didn't really fancy going to Canterbury on less-than-certain train times and even less certain train times on the way back). Instead, I took long walks through my area of London, exploring nearby parks, streets, and various edifices. I didn't take any pictures - I didn't even take the camera with me, as the weather was miserable, rainy and cold, but I felt too antsy to simply sit on my big behind.
When I did sit on my big behind, I was alternately reading and writing. Now that I have found a wonderful copy editor, my creativity has been kick-started, so I rewrote a few stories, and drafted a handful of others, which will need a lot of polishing until I can let anyone see them. It's funny where these stories come from sometimes.
Today seems to be a bit friendlier, weather-wise, and I will go out in a bit to get more money put on the gas and electricity sticks and get some milk.
I have to say that this week off has done me an enormous amount of good. I feel rested, re-energized and ready to tackle work and the office move. It is strange, except for the getting up early, I am looking forward to going back to work.
