Oh Malaysia
Aug. 1st, 2008 10:32 pmOf course I went back to the Malaysia Festival after work, even though I knew perfectly well that I would not be able to leave without purchases.
I now own a white, turquoise and blue cotton shirt in what I would describe as abstract cloud-pattern, and a white, kaftan-like almost-long-enough-to-be-a-dress blouse - basically a long, straight piece of white cotton with a cut-out and reinforced neck and seams under the arms; and it is decorated with a hand-painted batik-style beautiful creeper-like flower in green and lilac. Combined with white trousers, or even jeans, this looks stunning.
They have the most wonderful batik and painted silk clothing and scarves. If I were a scarf-person (which I am not, I can't stand to have something constricting my neck), I would have bought one of them. Even so, there was this luminous dark violet, black and red flower-design 90*90 silk headscarf which seemed to glow like an old church window, and I was so tempted, but I know I could never carry it off successfully.
What I can carry off successfully though is the slim silver armband I bought, little leaves with freshwater pearls like flower buds.
This morning, I saw the 22% eclipse - the sun looked as if it were a cookie with the top left hand corner bitten into. Or a bit like Pacman.
I just now almost fell asleep on the floor next to the kitty. I think I should go to bed before I fall asleep here and wake up with the keyboard imprinted into my forehead.
