Having to get a book back to the library by ten o'clock of course means that once you're there, you might as well hang around. Result: In six hours spent in the library, I managed to do as much work as I would have in a day and a half at home.
Realizing this, I pre-ordered one of the little square cabinets-on-wheels you can keep stuff in, like borrowed books, study and writing materials, emergency rations and the like. I should get one within a week or two. Let the library become my study base. At least there, I won't be distracted by others or myself unless I want to be.

It's a good thing I was already intending to walk home from the library, because a traffic accident in the shortest, smallest, busiest thoroughfare en route resulted in me getting home quicker on foot than if I had taken the bus.
