Satie weather
Jan. 11th, 2007 09:27 pmThere is no other way to describe what's going on outside my window than that: Satie weather.
My dad's on a week's trip; he left on Tuesday and will be back sometime over the weekend. The atmosphere at home is strangely relaxed and quiet in that very comfortable way. Are these two connected? Guess.
I know I'm not posting a lot these days, but then I have not a lot to say. I'm doing my daily excercises (very good; I'm rediscovering muscles I had almost forgotten I had). I'm working along merrily on that PhD of mine, sifting through books and notes, hooking thoughts and ideas together. Not enough; still not enough.
For Christmas, my mum gave me an A2-sized wall-mounted calendar designed by Janosch, a well-known children's book author and artist, he of the tiger duck. While at first I was surprised and slightly taken aback by this, I have put it up above my desk and every time I look at it, I have to smile.
I think I'm going to go hide in bed, maybe with a hot-water bottle, and definitely with a good book, and call it an early night. Sleep through this weather. Miss out on winter, but come up smiling in spring.
