There was a rather tedious case which Lestrade nevertheless asked Sherlock’s opinion on, but nothing more (even though Sherlock had secretly expected Lestrade to make some sort of fuss, he was the sort of man who would). But nothing happened except that Sherlock solved the case, and that was not really a surprise.
Unless you’re a consulting detective who has a quite formidable inner child that’s hoping for a surprise on this of all days.
