Yes, I think it is slightly ironic that the minute I decide to post more here that another DDOS attack happens. To be quite honest, even after the first attack a few months ago, it hadn't really clicked for me that LJ was not only a blogging site, but also a vehicle for free speech, or at least uncensored speech. Which somehow also seems strange when considering LJs history (anyone remember "Nipplegate"?). Still, at least for me, LJ is where my blogging happens, and where memories reside. Facebook is not a blogging site, it's a social network (and gaming site); Google+ seems to be somewhere in between a blog and a network, plus the circles makes it handy for things, but it's slow-moving and I'm not yet sure if it's DVD or Laserdisc.

Anyway. Summer has made a tentative return, which I don't mind at all, but I will say that I prefer a mild summer to weeks of hot, humid weather. Sadly, the flowers I planted in the little back garden probably won't bloom, although they've grown tall. No flower buds. I guess it just wasn't raining enough, and the neighbourhood cats using the earthen strip as a public toilet probably didn't help either. Oh well, the bulbs will stay in the earth, we'll see what happens next year. Meanwhile, the old lavender plant I rescued from a skip is blooming nicely. It will be cut back after summer and I'll see if I can get it out of the planter and into the earth. I'll also cut the roses, because it needs to be done and no-one else is doing it. It's communal garden (meaning, nobody cares for it), and the downstairs flat is still vacant.

Besides doing a bit of washing and cleaning this weekend (I have a visitor coming (yay!)), I was at a handful of concerts, a gallery opening, did improvisational comedy and rode a horse. I love SL.

And finally, some more Doctor Who Days!

Day 02 – Your Favorite Classic Series Episode
Mind Robber (Second Doctor).

Day 03 – Your Favorite New Series Episode
That's got to be Midnight. Claustrophobic, psychological terror, the power of speech and what happens when it is taken away. Also, Colin Morgan.

Day 04 – Your Favorite Doctor
Theoretically, I could point at every Doctor and say "He's my favourite because..." but that's for another day. Having said that, I have a big soft spot for Colin Baker's Doctor, and I wish that he had been allowed to do on TV what he does on the Big Finish audios. If you think Eccleston's "Dalek" is good, give "Jubilee" a listen.

Day 05 – Your Favorite Companion
Romanadvoratrelundar. And Donna Noble. In fact, my favourite companion would be Romanadonnatrelundar Noble.
