Time, and Day 5
Dec. 9th, 2010 11:07 pmSh!t, where does time go! I mean, seriously. Where does it go? The last time I turned around it was September, then autumn happened and the beautiful colours with it; it feels like yesterday that I was walking around in a t-shirt and now it's freezing; I remember chuckling about the very early Christmas cards and gifts and foods, and now the holidays are almost upon us. Where does time go? And what was I doing while it went?
Well, I know what I was doing, and I also know what I wasn't doing enough of. Posting here is one of the latter things. One entry a month is simply not cutting it. In one way, me not writing in my LJ means that all is well, but I know that when I look back on this in a few year's time, like I look back on the last few years of entries now, that I will ask myself, why the heck have I not written anything? What was happening in those months?
Anyway, Day 5, my definition of love. Have you ever looked at the moon when it's just a sliver, like the tip of a fingernail glowing in the sky on a clear night, and seen the faint outline of the rest of the rock in space hanging there like a promise, and wondered where the light illuminating the part of the moon that's not in sunlight came from? It is reflected earthlight, sunlight that's hit our planet and thrown back out into space. That realisation made me go "ooh wow", and that's my defitition of love. It will have to do until something better comes along.
