This is what I call a bitch of a day.
Jan. 31st, 2010 02:24 pmWoke up very early, with the headache from hell, was briefly sick, took two Ibuprofen and went back to bed. Six hours and a lot of sleep later, the headache has receded to a slight hover over my left eye, and I am functioning again.
Yesterday was a weird day. I had wanted to get in to work early, but then there were three hours of David Tennant and Catherine Tate on BBC2 as Jonathan Ross was ill, so I listened to that while cleaning my flat. Then I went to work and got some things done I can't do during normal work hours.
My thoughts, however, were (and still are) with a very good - no, best - friend who has had extremely bad news on Friday. I wish I could have been there; but I was reduced to stammer a few words over the phone. I am glad there were friends at hand, and that there is family to share and cushion. There are things that, in a second, change your world forever, and saying "I'm sorry" is just not enough.
Like I said, a bitch of a day.
