Trouser Woe

I would just like to note that it really sucks when trying to buy trousers in the UK to be small and fat. Try finding a size 18 or 20 in short. Also, what is it with sizes anyway? Even given that there are different kinds of cuts, why am I a size 22 in one store and an 18 in another?

... I'm looking forward to hitting C&A in Germany and buying trousers that I can grab off the shelf, slip into, and they fit, without having to try them on even.

I like watching the Sarah Jane Adventures, I really do, fun things that they are. Good characters, too. However, more often than not I have the feeling they are, well, not recycling plots from old Doctor Who stories exactly. Only, there's always something that makes me think, "Ah, they got this idea from Mawdryn Undead, this one's from Ghost Light, oh and doesn't that remind me of Greatest Show in the Galaxy? Or was it Key to Time? Oh but that is a direct quote from Curse of Fatal Death!"
I'm not saying that they took whole stories. It feels more like a springboard thing - taking an idea and running with it into a different (and more 21st century children's SF) direction. Maybe only geeks like me get this feeling, and maybe it's because it's written by the same kind of geek.

And on a completely unrelated note, I now know why it's "Remember remember the fifth of November". It's because people have been letting off fireworks for the past two weeks, if not more, and probably will for the next two weeks as well. It's November 5th, guys! You're scaring the wildlife! ;)
