One night in Bisto
Mar. 1st, 2009 09:47 amLike I told my host
idahoswede earlier, it's not only about the amount of sleep one gets, it's also about the quality of sleep. Me, I've grown used to cars and trucks and the occasional ambulance driving past my bedroom window and the people in the flat above me being nocturnal and playing marbles during the night, so the utter silence of a Bisto night was extremely restful, and even though I had a dream bordering on nightmare of trying to set up the new office computers while everyone was busy and there was a meeting going on in the next room.
Last night, there were stars in the sky. When I was outside just now, enjoying my cancer stick in the fresh air of an overcast morning, I heard birdsong, and church bells. That was when I fell in love with Bisto, hook line and sinker.
I think I'm going to like it here.
