First of all, thanks to all of you who participated in the poll. It was very helpful, and will keep me doing things for the next weekends too. :)
Since it was moderately sunny, I decided on the mapless walk. My starting point was Covent Garden, or rather a little bookshop off of Covent Garden, where Mr Stephen Fry was signing his new book, "Stephen Fry in America". I stood in a line that was moving quicker than I thought, even though he took some time to exchange a few words with everyone. Yes, with me too, and after he found out that I am German, he started to speak the language. It's a strange feeling, talking to someone you've known (of) and admired for years, and he then speaks to you in your own language. Also, I was glad I didn't completely embarrass myself in the face of fame.

xhirra later, I set off in a direction away from the tourist maelstrom that is Covent Garden on a weekend, and walked upwards. Of course, that led me directly to Forbidden Planet (I didn't know that!), where another book signing was going on, this time of Doctor Who authors (but I didn't stand in line for that). I briefly toyed with the idea of buying the Fifth Doctor action figure - if it had been the Sixth Doctor one, I would have gotten it.
I then set off again, determined not to walk along the big streets, and took the next right, where I found (or rather, re-found) the Phoenix Gardens. It has grown a lot bigger since I was there last.
A few side-streets and turnings later, and - Trafalgar Square. You can't escape it. There was an event there, to work against child poverty. I hung around there for a while, listening to the live music, and then took off again, down Whitehall, and then next left, parallel to the Strand, until I saw an RV1 bus passing me by. I caught it at the next bus stop (by now it was getting rather cold), got off at London Bridge and from then on home.
Sunday was so cold and wet that I decided against going out at all, and I spent the day reading.
Now, I did take the camera with me on Saturday, and here are a few pictures.
