I can't believe I've only been here for what, a week? A week and a day? I feel strangely at home, and even have a bit of a routine setting in, which includes stuff like doing the dishes last thing at night before going to bed with my hot-water bottle (more for comfort than for warmth, really). I still mistype the y's and z's, but that's only to be expected; give me a month and I'll probably mistype them on the German keyboard layout of my laptop.
Today, outside my workplace, I saw a van drive by with the lettering, "Sense and Security". I love a firm with a sense of literary humour. If that's indeed what it was, and if it wasn't, I'll pretend it was because I believe I have a sense of literary humour and can read things between the lines even if said things aren't there.
Someone got me hooked on Top Gear and Mercat Manor and the other Miss Marple. It's a good thing we share one TV. I've also gotten hooked on a book and will now read me one. Uh, you know what I mean.
I have the feeling my spoken English is getting worse instead of better. I am struggling with vocabulary, and I can hear my accent more and more.
But oh, it is lovely to be in London in the spring! ... if only it weren't for those bloody tourists. ;-)
