Summertime
Jul. 11th, 2006 12:37 amIt's half past midnight, there's a sodding great big huge full moon in the sky, almost close enough to touch; the cat's still outside roaming around somewhere - or sleeping, maybe; and the garden is filled with the sniffing of hedgehogs, surreal as this sounds.
I stood there, holding an electric torch and watching the two hedgehods. The bigger one was quiet and kept trying to circle the smaller one, while that one was doing a rather good imiation of a pair of bellows. I don't know if they were fighting or trying to mate, but I left them to their own devices and am simply going to listen to them while falling asleep. And no, I will not disturb nature by taking pictures.
Good thing I know our cat won't touch hedgehogs after a prickly encounter last year.
