crunch time
May. 2nd, 2005 12:51 pmTomorrow, my class starts. There's actually two people who signed up for it via the internet. I wonder how many more will show up.
I'm going to hit them over the head with a story written in 1956 - yes, it's not really 19th century, but it's a nice way to get them into the mood for Science Fiction, and at least the author is British. It's "Sole Solution" by Eric Frank Russell, and it has a neat surprise ending. I'll type it up and post it, if anyone's interested, it's not that long.
This will also give me the opportunity to see how "sf savvy" my students are, and probably bring out some typical SF themes at the same time. As well as, of course, showing me how good (or bad) their English is.
At the very least, tomorrow should be fun!
