Hate the Parallel World wildcard.

I didn't listen to the podcast/commentary yet... but my guess is that they either wanted to tell the story of the Cybermen-creation without bothering much about the established continuity from the old seasons... and/or it was so that we could meet characters we already know and going to care if they get "cyberized". But that effect fell a bit flat (which always does to me in "parallel universe"-stories, I've never been much of a fan of them. Who cares if character X is a president/dishwasher in another dimension. Does it matter?). In the end they're still different characters... and the Doctor did a hell of a job to remind us of it. If he tells Rose every five minutes that she shouldn't care, because these people are not her parents... why should we? They better should have spend more time on characters from the Ricky-gang. If they had been developed a litte better, then I surely would have cared about *them* in case.

Like Rose less and less. Wish they'd kept Mickey instead.

Hah! Same here. But then I've never been much of a Rose-fan in the first place. She may have her moments, but I always felt she was a little obnoxious and selfish... and since the second series this feeling is getting worse and worse. Any idea when exactly are they going to write her out? *lol*

I want Mickey back! *shakes fist and pouts*

And it's bloody Earth again next week! Where'd the "S" in TARDIS go? Is it "TARDIE" now, as in "E" for Earth?

Well, at least they travelled to NEW earth. *rolleyes* *lol* And although I get the "Dorset with a funny rock"-argument by Davies, it still sounds a bit lazy. You don't have to show vast alien landscapes in every single frame, the old series didn't do it either. Show some corridors or anything elseif the budget can't afford more... just TELL me it's a different planet, dammit! *hmpf*

I don't remember if it was on some board or even in my LJ... but at some point during the first series, I complained that the characters always talked about how great and amazing it was on planet X and world Y... and that is was a rather fake thing to do when all they show us is earth in all kind of variations. Meh. But at least were going to travel in two weeks to an alien world... finally!

Well, apart from that I liked the episode, too. It maybe wasn't very deep but it was great entertainment, despite all the flaws. Anyway... There were episodes before this one which felt like "proper" Who to me... like The Empty Child or The End Of The World (which could have been easily out of season 17).

And... oh... Broadbent, already? :D
