Christmas in January

I can't wipe the grin off my face, because I am having a late Christmas. The mail arrived intact, and it is watchable. Thank you, [livejournal.com profile] ladyjillian, I owe you!

*bounces off to watch The Christmas Invasion*

Edit: It was well worth the wait - fantastic!

Pilot fish. I thought it was all explained quite well?

oops sorry, forgot to log in with that last comment.

Oh, did I mention that I bought eight BBC Who novels at half-price from Forbidden Planet yesterday? ;) I just love stacking up trouble, don't I. ;)

The energy the Doctor was exuding (regeneration energy, possibly combined with the last of the vortex energy leaving him?) attracted the Sycorax to Earth. But the pilot fish parasiting of the Sycorax were also drawn to the energy. They reached the Earth just ahead of the Sycorax ship and used a disguise when they arrived, locking on to the prevailing cultural event of the time - Christmas. The TARDIS has a chameleon circuit - the pilot fish must operate along similar lines, the better to reach their target relatively undetected.

Possibly the poilot fish aren't parasitical . . but symbiotic, and share some things with the Sycorax. Come on, this is sci-fi!
