Friday

So, yeah...

What a weekend! Let's start with Friday. After some walking and shopping (I would get a visitor that same evening after all), I went down to London to watch that day's edition of The News Quiz being recorded at the BBC studios off Portland Road. We had to wait for some time because everything was running late - not surprisingly, given the election the day before and various speeches that were being made as the team were rehearsing. They even stopped the recording to listen to one of the speeches, and it was a joy to see Sue Perkins' and Sandi Toksvik's faces as they listened. Jeremy Hardy seemed singularly unimpressed by the whole matter. Sandi Toksvik, someone whom I didn't really know from Eve a year ago, has become one of my favourite BBC personalities.
It was fun to listen to the show that evening. Poor editor, he had to jiggle a lot around.

Before going back to BiSto to finish cleaning the flat and picking up A. from the airport (and isn't it great to live so close to the airport), I paid a visit to the Lush store at Liverpool Street Station. As luck would have it, they were celebrating their birthday - the store had moved up from one of the underpasses to the top level a year ago. They had all kinds of special offers, such as retro lush usually not available in stores, and cake and tea, and a gift package worth £10 for everyone who spent more than £20 - and let's face it, spending less than £20 at Lush is limiting yourself, and I am too much of a hedonist to do that. Especially since I only go to Lush once every two months.
In addition to the goodie bag, I also got an extra face mask because I mentioned in passing that it would be my birthday on Sunday. So, all in all, I probably got double what I paid for. Yay!

Tonight I was cold, so I decided to take a bath. I am now smelling deliciously of the "Pop in the bath"-bubble bar, and my face is wonderfully soft after the application of a "Love Lettuce" face mask.
