When retail therapy is
May. 1st, 2008 09:50 pmI tried my luck again today, this time at Primark and M&S.
Primark... Well, what can I say. Cheap, both in price, material and make. But not little in amount of people there and time waiting for a fitting room. Also, the biggest size is an 18 that I would translate to a small German 40, not a 46. So most of the nice things I had in my bag were not fit to wear for a large-breasted woman, except for a stone-coloured linen tunic and a two-in-one shirt, black with inset white sleeves and collar.
Then I hit M&S, and gold. Not outrageously expensive, yet things I can see myself wear, mostly of the "per una"-line (except for most of the knitwear). And I found a trenchcoat-style off-white coat with brown seams - in fact, it's this one. 100% pure linen!
Their linen range, come to think of it, isn't bad either, but as usual I'm between sizes as far as trousers are concerned; it either fits everywhere except at the small of the back, where it sticks out, or it fits there, but is too small everywhere else.
It's one of those things I miss about Second Life, apart from my friends there who I hope have not forgotten me: the clothes there, and all of them fitting (well, it's pixels on pixels, what do you expect). In fact, I've seen clothes in the past few weeks where I thought, "Ginger would wear this". I wish I could, too.
