It's the little things...
Dec. 7th, 2007 09:04 pmToday, I worked from 7 in the morning til 6 in the evening, and never once did I stand at the till. New stuff arrived, and we were busy unpacking, sorting, and rearranging half the store. ("Move the contents of this table to the front, and the front table to the back! Get the santas off the pyramid and onto a table! And while you're at it, reduce half the stuff.") But, strangely enough, it was fun - thanks to my boss and colleagues. One especially, she whose sense of humour is pretty much the same as mine (as well as my age), is a joy to work with. In the last hour today, we kept throwing fake snow at each other to the bemusement of the customers.
I am inordinately upset about the new packaging of Milka chocolate bars. They are now in a resealable plastic pack. Gone are the days of paper packaging, and the rustling of the aluminium foil underneath. I have to live with it, but the aesthetics are all wrong.
Frustrated with other games, I bought the complete edition of Baldur's Gate. I had heard so much about it, and will start playing tomorrow. I know it's an older game, but hey, it was four games in one package for only 10€.
Oh, and last night, lying in bed in the dark, I watched a documentary about wolves, which not only fascinated me, but also my cat. When they showed wolf cubs playing and howling - well, yowling - he woke up all agitated, jumped on top of the TV, trying to look behind it, and then proceeded to watch the documentary from above the TV. There's nothing more hilarious than seeing a cat's head peer down on the TV and a paw reaching down trying to pet wolves.
