friends shaking hands,

When I first got my digital camera, I made a lot of pictures, most of them rather, shall we say, experimental. Ok, let's call a spade a spade - they were crappy, and not really meant to be good; I was simply messing around with the camera. Don't we all?
Anyway, I rarely deleted pictures; after all, bytes don't cost money. And when I was asked to contribute to an "art contest" in an online community I frequent, I was only happy to do so. I sent in the picture you see here, which I actually quite like, not least of all because I know the owners of the hands.
And it won.
I have no idea why.

I like it. You've captured the active exchange of friendship. It's symbolic enough to be generally applicable while also exhibiting the warmth of individual personal relationships. The warm colours work well to enhance the positive atmoshere too (I bet if the was predominated by cold colours then it wouldn't be nearly as attractive).

I couldn't agree more.
I think however, it would also give it a classic look to do it in Sepia or Black and White, don't you think?

Timeless...

I like the colours as it is now but it's not far from warm sepia tones I suppose. :-)
